Every year, City Church of Praise (CCOP) looks forward to the annual thanksgiving celebration that is intended to offer praises and thanks to our most gracious Heavenly Father for God never failed to sustain the needs of His people and He also never failed to communicate His never ending love unto His children. For this reason, CCOP gave their best efforts in preparing for this event all year long to give God the best offerings of praises that He deserves.
In the year 2015, CCOP celebrated a 3-day annual thanksgiving that was held on December 21-23 with the theme from Psalm 105:1 “Give thanks to the LORD and proclaim His greatness.” The first day was a joint thanksgiving for children from CCOP Children Ministry and Kingdom Kids Club (Feeding Ministry). The second day was also a joint thanksgiving for the young people and the young adults. Lastly, the third day was a thanksgiving day for the adults.
On the first day of the event, the children in CCOP together with the Kingdom Kids – the recipients of the feeding program – from Barangay Sta. Elena and Barangay. Villaverde expressed their heartfelt gratitude to God. During the 1st day, Sister Nenisa Gaid, Children Ministry and Feeding Ministry Chairwoman, shared to the kids her top 10 “thanksgiving list” in order to help the children appreciate everything God has given them and to let them know that they have so much for which they should be thankful for. What she shared was inspired from Psalm 100:4 “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to Him and praise His name.” After this short message, the kids proclaimed the greatness of our Lord through songs, dances and testimonies. The lunch was served after this activity. It is evident that even at their young age they already understood the essence of thanksgiving. Surely, the children felt the goodness and the undying love of our Lord.
In the afternoon, there were parlour games facilitated by Sis. Marydelle Legaspi and Sis. Nora Narisma with prizes on each game winners. Before the thanksgiving end, each children were given a simple present from our sponsors.
By the grace of God, the first day of the annual thanksgiving 2015 was successful. The children enjoyed their fellowship as they unite to bring back all the glory, honour and praises to our Almighty King.
