City Church of Praise held its Annual Thanks-giving celebration on December 18, 2016 with the theme, “Be Thankful To His Wondrous Name”, taken from Psalms 100:4. It has been a customary practice of CCOP to celebrate thanksgiving offering to the Lord for his faithfulness to CCOP ministry and to its congregation.
The Lord has tremendously blessed the church in many ways for the whole year 2016. He continuously strengthen and expanding our local CCOP ministries and raised up more faithful and dedicated leaders. The Lord has also this year added three (3) daughter churches in different provinces; two (2) churches in Bukidnon province and one (1) church in Camiguin province. Another big blessings the Lord has made to CCOP this year was the establishment of our partnership (as sister church) with the Bristol Hope Assembly of God in Pennsylvania, USA. The financial support we received regularly from Bristol Hope Assembly every month has been a great help in subsidizing CCOP’s monthly building rental.
CCOP celebrated annual thanksgiving with a whole day activity. In the morning was a usual divine service with some parts of the program added such as opening remarks, scripture reading and word of thanksgiving given by Bishop Geoffrey Saniel. Our thanksgiving speaker this year was Ptr Alona Saniel. Our lunch reception was made at AMS Chicken Haus Restaurant for youth and adults while children and some of the Sunday school teachers have ate their lunch at the church since the restaurant’s function hall could no longer accommodate our number if we dine altogether. The total number of our thanksgiving attendance was around 250 (including children of around 40). These people were comprised of CCOP’s regular members, direct family members, Bible study members and sympathizers. Non-CCOP members were not invited to avoid overcrowding of our church service hall.
Afternoon activities were full of fun and surprises. A lot of challenging games were made with exciting prizes. Group presentations were also performed by different groups such as, children, youth, men, women and cell groups. Distribution of special gifts brought more enjoyment and excitement to everyone. HAPPY THANKSGIVING
